Place:     London

Date:     1776

First Edition. Observations from Edinburgh during the late eighteenth century and published at the start of the American Revolutionary War. Discusses golf related information starting on page 96-97.
Condition: Scuffs to covers were repair as shown in photo to hinges, slight foxing; else very good.

A fine piece of historical preservation; in golf collecting, it is rare to own anything with the game referenced in print from the 18th century!

Gourlay - A very famous and desirable aspect of this item is the signature of "Margaret Gourlay".  Below is some connections we've found:

Margaret Dishart married Robert Gourlay, son of Robert Gourlay and Agnes Myniman, in 1752.
With three elder sons, and by her.  Her married name became Gourlay.
Child of Margaret Dishart and Robert Gourlay
