The Golf Swing Forum

At Golf’s Great Heritage we love reading through golf swing instruction books, with centuries of instruction, when taken as a whole (all which has been written on the subject of swinging the golf club, chipping, putting, bunker play, slice, fade…) it begs to answer; what is the tale of golf instruction, how has the swing in the modern game evolved, which swing thoughts are unchanged, what has been written in the past which is still valid in present day instruction?

Whether this is beneficial knowledge we won’t know yet, however the forum discussions have been very popular and fun to moderate, and it's your chance to share great golf insight.  If nothing else, you'll become more familiar and informed about the golf swing - you'll have a back-pocket full of your favorite tips and swing blips.  And you'll be able to pay credit to the original “swing-guru” that thought of it! Hopefully we'll discover a little more about the golf swing throughhome page intro swing forum background final forum feedback, we hope to uncover consensus favorites that can work for "most-of-us”.  Why not write them down; you can start to define your own Sensational Swing Tips (SST’s) to live-by in your game.  Hope you can join us in finding out all we can about concepts and notions, skills and drills; collectively the swing fundamentals (with a few good laughs sprinkled in as well)!

The boundary on this forum is drawn at printed and “on record” instruction guides in first edition.  We hope the experts out there can help out too, help instruct the masses.  If there’s a figurative end-game, it might be defining which are timeless, valid through all generations of golf instruction!

A few fun and games too, when we unveil some beauties… featured articles that will have you scratch'n your scalp in wonderment as you read some "rare" written "golf instruction".  It's those "swing-guru's" tips you'll want to avoid, but kudos, and a chance to revisit them (thanks to that rather courageous publisher)!  It’s got to be worth a few laughs to see where these wisdoms will take us…

The forum discussions are initiated by an introductory article with a recap of the books primary swing (or golf fundamental) assertions.  With each article you will find sufficient photos to support their concepts; generally the author's concepts and photos are taken from one of their first edition books.  From there the forum leads the discussion, filtering ideas and questions.  Hopefully you’ll gain a mix of; more questions, a few answers, maybe even a fundamental consensus on what works for every level of golfer?

Here are just a few questions that come to my mind: How does a golfer’s own "body type" (physiology, physical limits) determine their golfing success to lower their handicap (thinking TPI here)? Do some swing fundamentals apply only to elite players since they hold a capability to maximizing equipment technology (thinking some tips just aren't for everyone)?  Which drills are still preached by present-day instructors and resemble an exact copy or modified version of a published (and time-tested) idea, a declarable "works-for-most" tip, a true swing fundamental?  It’s your chance to ask your questions, look at golf swing ideas from fresh perspectives, and to add your own experiences.  It's a chance to think for a moment about some of the original swing-gurus that the game of golf has known.

The Swing Forum Categories web page will get you started - Pick the subject that captures your interest and comment-in as you form your questions or your answers.  We hope to hear from as many people as possible, so spread the word!  Do note, ladies are not forgotten here!  We feature some interesting and dynamic women’s golf instruction courtesy of some of the greatest woman champion golfers of all-time; you’ll find these tips extremely useful!
